Hi All, I made it from Florida to Council Bluffs, Iowa and swapped a full trailer for an empty and then drove 162 miles to Sioux Center,Iowa (not Sioux City) to pick up a load of bacon that goes to Indianapolis, Indiana today. I will pick up a load in the morning that runs to Spanish Fork, Utah. It's down by Provo. I will have to stop at our terminal in West Valley, Utah for a winter safety meeting and fuel. I will be driving through Indiana, Illinois, Iowa, Nebraska, Wyoming and then into Utah and it is winter now and I will be on I-80 for the most part of this trip. I-80 has been closed about 6 times so far this winter due to bad ice storms and blizzard white out condition's. It gets so windy out on that stretch of I-80 that with just a light dusting of snow, you can be blown off the road. so you all know that I'm thrilled to make that run at 80 thousand pounds. I have a hard enough time with my Volvo to keep in slow on dry mountain roads. Got a message sent to me today, that says to have 3 day's of food and water with me and to run full fuel tanks. When the highways & interstates shut down, fuel trucks can't get in to fill the stations up so everyone runs out of fuel. NO FUEL=NO HEAT. Thank goodness I have a gas BBQ on board. I'll have heat and hot dogs.
I hope you are all safe and well.
Enjoy my glamor shots!

Foot note to Lori & Al. I've been thinking about those men you saw in Barcelona and I now do all my driving with the same outfit on.
I now own my first fur accessory. (see Model pics below) I have had a hard time keeping my ears warm in 30 degree weather with 40 mile an hour winds. I found this hat in a truck stop in Iowa. What the heck as long as it keeps my ears warm. It's the kind that the sides flip down over your ears like a babushka. Don't tell Katie that I own fur. She would be very upset. Well I got to go, I'm frying baby harp seal in whale blubber oil tonight with spotted owl buffalo wings for dinner.

I don't know if it's the age or just this week, but I feel tired. I ware this mask when I go through Photo radar areas.

Good Morning Illinois. This Morning as I rolled out of Illinois and into Indiana, I was hit by fog and 32 degree weather.

You could only see about 200 feet in front.

This is a truck stop in Florida that Kerry and I stayed at last summer. Kerry made me eat grits at the huddle house Restaurant. We then walked across the street to a fruit stand where you can buy fresh Florida fruits & veggies as well as fireworks and real gator heads. I never thought of Florida as part of the Redneck South, but most of it is.

I'm sure that those orange cones will stop the traffic from drifting in to my lane. This is how they fix all the freeways across the country. Close one whole side and fix it.
